This image depicts one of Henry Hering's sculptures at Union Station. "Allegorical Night", along with her sister "Day" have welcomed train travellers arriving in Chicago for nearly a hundred years.

UNION STATION

This sunlit photograph shows the classic west facade of Chicago's Union Station. Completed in 1925 by architects Graham Anderson Probst and White, it is a marked contribution to Daniel Burnham's 1909 Plan for Chicago.

CHRIST OF THE LOOP

This brooding Christ sculpted by Arvid Strauss in 1953 looks down on Madison Street from Saint Peter's Church in Chicago. The Church was designed in 1953 by Chicago Architects Vitzthum and Burns.

FOUNTAIN OF THE GREAT LAKES

Ontario extends her hand to the Sea. This striking woman is a detail from Lorado Taft's sculpture "Fountain of the Great Lakes." Made possible by the Benjamin Franklin Ferguson Fund, it stands today in the South Garden of the Art Institute of Chicago.

MARSHALL FIELD CLOCK

Peirce Anderson, educated at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, designed the clock at Marshall Field and Company that has become a Chicago Landmark.

PRESTON BRADLEY HALL

The Tiffany Dome in Preston Bradley Hall, in the Chicago Cultural Center, floats over this Tiffany Chandelier. The building was constructed in 1897. Architects for the project were Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge.
